Research Area:

Energy and mass transfer, biochemical kinetics and engineering design in biological systems related to human health including applications in medical, ecological, and pharamceutical/ nutritional systems.

Projects:
  • Modeling sediment oxygen demand in Arroyo Colorado River for inclusion into regulatory decision model for determining TMDL (total maximum daily load).
  • Investigating the relationship between engineering properties and genomics to develop rice lines resistant to in-field fissuring.
  • Developing portable water ecosystem oxygenator to enhance biological processes used to clean water and reduce odors in agricultural and municipal waste treatment facilities.
